Australian Facebook user Morgan Jane Gibbs posted the stomach-turning dish to the social media site last week.
The “health-conscious” young woman apparently devised the dish with the clean-eating trend in mind.
She wrote: “Just made chicken medium rare chicken strips. They're so good can't believe I've never tried it like this before. Can't wait to dig into this with my homemade salad and veges. #healthy #newyearsresolution #clean #cleaneating.” [sic]
The picture of the dish is enough to make anyone feel a tad queasy, with partially cooked breast sliced into thin sections.

For those worrying about Morgan’s health - fear not. It appears the Aussie was simply playing a prank.
This didn’t stop a lot of internet uses expressing extreme disgust.
One wrote: “‘Chicken medium rare’ is a very weird way to spell ‘salmonella poisoning'.”
Another said: “How can chicken be medium rare? You lot are sick.”

However, it may surprise some to know the disk that Morgan used a picture of IS real.
Chicken tatami, or chicken tartare, is a Japanese delicacy.
Marks and Spencer unveiled a healthy sausage alternative with 78 calories and 90 per cent less fat.
The banger has been devised to help dieters enjoy traditional British dishes such as toad in the hole and casserole.

Despite the highly diminished calorie count - the sausages are reportedly no smaller than other options.
A normal pork sausage would contain about 25 per cent fat, which is 16.5g per sausage.
The new, healthy variety uses legumes and other veg, as well as rice flour, chickpea flour and corn flour to get the perfect sausage texture.
The sausages cost the same as M&S’s usual variety of sausage, at £3.20.
