I tried Aldi’s viral Jammy Wheel Easter egg for under £10 — 1 word sums it up
I wanted to taste Aldi's Jammy Dodger egg to see if it was possible to get high-quality Easter chocolate for less than £10 this year.
Easter is now less than two weeks away and it can be stressful trying to find the perfect chocolate egg to buy for loved ones, as they are getting so expensive. Some people are paying over £30 for a fancy egg from Hotel Chocolat or £12 for one from Marks and Spencer, and are still left feeling disappointed by the quality. Many supermarket Easter eggs this year seem to be all style and no substance, so I have been trying to find one that’s genuinely tasty without costing a fortune.
I recently discovered that Aldi has released a Jammy Dodger-inspired Easter egg for £7.99, and since it is such an iconic British biscuit, I really wanted to try it. It seemed like a fun gift idea, so I sat down with a big cup of tea to try Aldi’s Jammy Wheel Biscuit Egg and find out whether it is still possible to get a tasty chocolate egg for under £10.

What did the Jammy Wheel taste like?
The Jammy Wheel has a white chocolate outer layer, with a raspberry layer filled with biscuit pieces on the inside.
It also has a really nice presentation, as it looks like a massive Jammy Dodger, with the white chocolate resembling a biscuit with a red star in the middle that tastes like jam.
The first thing I noticed when I tried to bite into the Easter egg was that the chocolate was really thick. It is so dense that I had to try to break it apart with a knife to get some pieces to eat.
I really enjoyed this egg as it was creamy, rich and perfectly sweet without being overpowering.
This Easter egg reminded me of the Lindt strawberry and cream truffles, if you have ever tasted them, as it is really high quality and had a good balance of chocolate filling.
Is it worth buying the Jammy Wheel?
However, the one thing that did slightly disappoint me about the Jammy Wheel is that it is hollow on the inside, as I feel for £8 maybe some sweets should have been included.
That being said, it is a 325g Easter egg, and the one word I would use to describe it is impressive, as I do think you are getting quite a lot of chocolate for your money.
For comparison, the Waitrose No.1 Almond Croissant egg that is viral at the moment costs £15 for 275g, while the Marks and Spencer Custard Cream egg costs £12 for 320g.
If you or a loved one loves white chocolate, Jammy dodger biscuits or simply likes a novelty gift, I would definitely recommend it, as I think you are getting a good deal.
My brother absolutely loves white chocolate, so this is basically guaranteed to be a hit this Easter, and honestly, I am tempted to pick a second one up for myself because it was just that good.
