And Hall Hunter, which provides 50 per cent of the 6,000 tonnes of UK-grown superfruit, said buying the best of British is the ecofriendly way to help the industry.
Its spokesman said: "Many blueberries have travelled over 6,000 miles. British blueberries eliminate these food miles."
