Quickest way to make flavourful baked potato without oven shared by chef
Baked potatoes can be prepared in just five minutes with this genius hack.
Potatoes are a versatile vegetable that can go with most meals. Even better, they don’t have to take too much effort to whip up.
The quickest way to make a baked potato doesn’t need to involve your oven. Culinary Scientist Chef Jessica Gavin said it's a great technique to use especially if you're just making one or two potatoes and you don’t have a lot of time.
How to make baked potato easily using a microwave
Using a fork, prick through the potato skin about 8 times on one side. This will prevent it from exploding in the microwave.
Brush the surface of the potato skin with a little bit of olive oil. This is going to prevent the potato from drying out and give it a little more flavour.
Season with some salt. “It’s important to cook one potato at a time for even cooking,” the chef advised.
