The perfect hot cross bun is a favourite breakfast for many. So, which supermarket is offering the best hot cross bun this year? According to a new study, Aldi is the place to go.
Aldi has proved to be the number one destination for Hot Cross Buns this Easter.
It has taken the title across the best overall hot cross bun and best budget hot cross bun categories.
Aldi scored 88 out of 100 for its Aldi Luxury Fruited Hot Cross Buns, 99p for four.
Tasters in the Good Housekeeping taste test commented on the toffee-like sultanas throughout, and the subtle notes of cinnamon and clove.

Last year’s winners Marks & Spencer were still strong contenders this year, achieving top marks in the ‘Best Gluten Free Hot Cross Bun’ for its M&S Made Without Hot Cross Buns, which cost £2 for four.
These buns scored 88 out of 100.
Tasters praised the gluten-free offering for its nutmeg flavour and attractive glazed look.
Good Housekeeping’s consumer and expert panel tasted 10 Classic Hot Cross Buns and eight Gluten Free Hot Cross Buns this year.

In other Easter food news, Tesco has slashed its popular Easter eggs to just 75p.
To get Clubcard Prices, customers need to scan their Clubcard app or tap their Clubcard key/fob at the checkout.
If customers are shopping online, they’ll have a Clubcard number on their account and so prices will automatically be reduced.
The newest offer comes two months before Easter, and is available online and in-store from today.
