You can now save over £6,000 off a brand new car, but there is a catch
MOTORISTS looking to buy a new car should think about doing so before the end of August 2017 as they could save themselves thousands of pounds due to the introduction of 2017 ’67’ number plates.
Nissan Qashqai 1.2 DiG-T Tekna is available with £5,540 via BuyACar
Motorists could end up bagging themselves a serious bargain by buying their new car this week as car dealerships look to ditch old stock ready for the introduction of new 67 plate vehicles.
Thousands of brand new ’17- plate cars are clogging up dealerships across the country and could offer a bargain buying opportunity for car buyers.
These pre-registered cars with next to no miles on the clock are being offered at a slashed price ahead of the new number plate introduction.
Brand-new cars are being offered with up to £6,000 off their price.
The most popular market segments in the UK - superminis and SUVs - offer the biggest savings with a brand new Nissan Qashqai being offered for over £5,000 less than its list price.
The only difference between these new cars and those being introduced form September is one number, which signifies the car’s age.
Budget cars such as the Renault Clio can now be bought for £10,000 and even premium cars such as the Mercedes A180d AMG Line and Audi Q3 1.4 TFSI Sport can be purchased at a cut price.
“There are still a number of low mileage dealer cars within the network across various different franchises and the volume by sector makes for interesting reading.
“While dealers will have a close eye on achieving their new car targets for September, they will be keen on ensuring that their late plated stock is managed well.”
It’s easy to overlook the even bigger discounts available on 17-plate cars which are effectively new
Pre-registered cars are one of the cheapest ways to own a brand-new car because you’ll be classed as the first owner despite the car only covering a handful of miles.
You will have less control over the colour, specs and tech onboard but could make a substantial saving.
BuyaCar.co.uk managing director, Austin Collins, said to The Sun: “At this time of year, all the talk is about new-reg car deals and the 67-plate so it’s easy to overlook the even bigger discounts available on 17-plate cars which are effectively new.
“Many have less than ten miles on the clock.
“Dealerships are keen to sell these before the 67-plate cars arrive, so as long as you’re not desperate to have the latest number plate, you can save thousands of pounds off the list price and have the car delivered within days.”
You can also receive a cut price on other cars such as the Mini Clubman Cooper S
