The West Bank is a Palestinian territory near the west coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The territory has been under Israeli occupation since 1967 - an act deemed illegal by many according to international law.
Its most notable cities include the Biblical ones of Bethlehem, Jericho and Nablus.
