Tom Tugendhat is the Conservative MP for Tonbridge and Malling, and was elected for the first time in 2015. He won a huge 47.3 percent majority in the 2019 general election, and later formed the China Research Group, alongside Neil O'Brien MP. Before joining the Tories, he was a part-time officer in the British Army reserves. He announced his candidacy to become the next Prime Minister, after Boris Johnson resigned in 2022.
