Jeremy Corbyn is a former Labour leader and the Independent MP for Islington North. Corbyn won the Labour leadership in September 2015 but led the party to one of its worst-ever election defeats in 2019.
He stood down following this disastrous defeat and was replaced as Labour leader by Keir Starmer in 2020.
The Labour Party removed the whip from Corbyn following a row over alleged historic anti-Semitism in the party. He is now running against Labour to save his seat at the 2024 General Election.
