HRT - hormone replacement therapy - is a treatment used to ease menopause symptoms. 

It replaces the hormones oestrogen and progesterone, which fall to low levels as women approach the menopause. 

Typical symptoms which can be reduced include hot flushes, night sweats, sleep problems, mood swings, vaginal dryness and anxiety and low mood.
