Focus falls on Kenny Dalglish
KENNY DALGLISH’S future as Liverpool manager has been cast into doubt after the FA Cup final defeat by Chelsea increased the scrutiny on his Anfield campaign.
Owner John W Henry and managing director Ian Ayre were tight-lipped over Dalglish’s position, refusing to take questions at Wembley after the 2-1 loss. They were due to return to the US last night.
Dalglish’s role will come under intense review as the owners dissect a campaign that delivered the Carling Cup in February but currently sees them in ninth place in the Premier League.
“They will do the same as us,” said Dalglish. “They will analyse the season at the end of it, when it is finished. We have two games left.”
