Nationwide confirms free £100 into bank accounts from Wednesday, June 10
Nationwide has confirmed the free £100 payments from Wednesday, June 10.

Millions of Nationwide bank account customers will be handed a free £100 payment on Wednesday, June 10. The bank has confirmed the details of its popular Fairer Share scheme, which pays a portion of its profits to customers. The building society introduced the profit share system in 2023 and since then has paid out £1.5b to its customers.
Now Nationwide has confirmed that those who are eligible to get the money will be sent £100 free, no strings attached, on Wednesday, June 10. While Nationwide aims to pay Fairer Share every year, it is not guaranteed and subject to Board approval. The latest Fairer Share payment, totalling around £440 million and going to around 4.4 million eligible Nationwide members, will be paid from June 10.

To meet the criteria for the new payment, customers must be a member of Nationwide with a qualifying current account, plus either qualifying savings or a qualifying mortgage and this needs to have been the case by March 31, 2026 (so you won’t qualify if, for example, you opened a current account on April 3).
Customers may have qualifying savings if they had at least £100 in total in one or more personal savings accounts or cash Isas with Nationwide at the end of any day in March 2026.
For qualifying mortgages, people must have owed Nationwide at least £100 on their Nationwide residential mortgage on March 31 2026.
Nationwide said about the £100 payments: “The Nationwide Fairer Share payment is £100 for the fourth year running. Over 4 million of our members will receive it.
“We will have paid out over £1.5 billion in total to eligible members since 2023.
“You must be a member of Nationwide with a qualifying current account, plus either qualifying savings or a qualifying mortgage.
“And you need to have met these criteria when we last checked on 31 March this year.
“Eligible members will receive their £100 payment between 10 and 30 June 2026. We will only pay the money into an open Nationwide current account.”
Nationwide has recently taken over Virgin Money, but those customers will not be able to benefit from the scheme this year.
Virgin Money customers may have missed out this time, but if they have become a member of Nationwide as a result of the transfer, they could be eligible for a Fairer Share payment in 2027 which will include qualifying Virgin Money accounts.
Nationwide added: “If you’ve become a member of Nationwide as a result of the transfer, you could be eligible for a Fairer Share payment in 2027 which will include qualifying Virgin Money accounts. We would like to make the payment every year, but this will depend on our financial performance.
“The amount we pay and what makes you eligible may change in the future, but you can see how it works on our terms and conditions page.”
