The National Lottery operator Allwyn has confirmed that a claim has been made for the £24m EuroMillions jackpot.

A fortunate UK ticket-holder matched all five main numbers and two Lucky Stars in last Friday's draw, bagging a whopping £24,145,749. This marks the second multi-million pound win in July, following another lucky player who scooped a £33 million jackpot on July 5.

In addition, another player won £1 million by matching the code in the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker prize pool. The claimant of the £24 million jackpot will now undergo a validation process to ensure they comply with the lottery's terms and conditions.

Once the validation is approved, the winner will be paid at an appointment with one of the National Lottery's Winner's Advisers. The winner will also have the option to either go public with their win and share the news or keep their identity private.

Unless the winner chooses to go public, details such as whether the winner is an individual or part of a syndicate, and where the ticket was purchased, will remain confidential.

Andy Carter, The National Lottery's Senior Winners' Advisor, couldn't contain his excitement as he announced, "This is absolutely incredible news and we're delighted that we've received a claim. This is the second huge UK EuroMillions jackpot win this month. Our focus is now on supporting this latest lucky ticket-holder through the winning process and helping them start to enjoy their truly life-changing win."

He also highlighted the broader impact of lottery participation, adding, "By playing any National Lottery game, players generate £30M each week for National Lottery-funded projects. This money helps fund projects across the nation, with over 690,000 grants supporting projects both big and small having been made across the UK to date."
