The firm, valued at £6million, is to launch an equity crowdfunding campaign this week on the Seedrs platform, the proceeds of which will be used to help its expansion in Asia and North America.
808 was founded by music producer Tommy Danvers. Known professionally as DJ TommyD, he counts Kanye West and Adele among his credits.
Its 808 whisky is a grain blend with a big following among clubbers in Britain and the Balearics.

Produced by the North British Distillery in Edinburgh, the Scotch has a lighter, smoother flavour and Tong said: “With 808 you’re getting people trying it who would never see themselves as whisky drinkers, so there’s huge potential.”
Danvers named the whisky after the well-known drum machine.
