Harry Potter to work his magic at Bloomsbury publishing
SEVEN years after the last Harry Potter book was released, the boy wizard is again poised to work his magic at Bloomsbury Publishing.
The company is to launch a children’s edition and will benefit from the buzz around Potter creator JK Rowling’s latest Fantastic Beasts screenplay, a West End play and new material on her Pottermore website.
“Not since the launch of the final Harry Potter book in 2007 has there been such a range of activities in support of the Harry Potter phenomenon,” said Bloomsbury chief Nigel Newton.
The group reported six months’ profits down by half to £500,000 on sales down 4 per cent to £46.6million.
Newton said its strong list ahead of the peak Christmas season included cookery titles by Paul Hollywood, Tom Kerridge and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.
The shares fell 6p to 154¼p.
