Mini and Rolls drive up BMW
DEMAND for its British-built Mini and Rolls-Royce helped German car maker BMW crank up sales.
Revenues rose 7 per cent to £15.1billion in the three months to the end of June.
Profits fell 19 per cent to a better than expected £1.7billion, reflecting tougher competition and an increase in technology and staff costs.
The group sold a record 901,000 vehicles in the first half of the year, an 8 per cent rise, as increased sales in Asia, particularly China and Japan, and the US offset falls in Italy and Spain.
