THE INSIDER: PR supremo branches out
Insider’s old chum and Merlin PR supremo Tom Randell, has branched out, opening a New Hampshire hotel.
The Olde Orchard Inn is next to Katharine Hepburn’s favourite restaurant and near the kind of scenery featured in her film On Golden Pond. The hotel, dating back to 1790, may have 300 apple trees in its grounds, a ghost and beavers but it does not have some of America’s biggest newspapers for guests to browse.
The Wall Street Journal and the New York Times have declined to deliver. Randell is thinking of taking in a British paper instead. No wonder he bills it as “a little bit of Olde England in New England”.
