London Fire: Local theatre offers ‘cuddles with cats’ to terrified children
LONDON’S BUSH THEATRE is offering shelter to terrified children caught up in the nearby Grenfell Tower inferno, including cuddles with their resident cats.
London Fire: Pirate the Cat is available for cuddles
The heartwarming gesture was tweeted as news spread of the terrifying blaze in West London, just over a mile from the newly refurbished Bush.
The theatre’s cats - Marley and Pirate - have their own Twitter feeds, and a message on Pirate’s read: “If your kids need a cuddle Marley, Caramel and I are here.
“Thoughts with those affected by the #GreenfellTower fire.”
Marley’s account posted: “We are here if you want a chat with humans, a quiet space, a shower, wifi or cat cuddles.

“So awful this has happened.”
The theatre’s main account said: “Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the fire at #GrenfellTower. Our doors are open as always for anyone that needs shelter today.”
Tonight’s performance of the play Hir is expected to go ahead as scheduled.
No public events, meanwhile, appear to be diarised for the nearby O2 Empire at Shepherd’s Bush.
