V Festival 2017: Jay Z pays moving tribute to Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington
JAY Z closed his V Festival set last night with a poignant tribute to Chester Bennington, with whom he had previously collaborated.
Jay Z honoured Chester Bennington last night
The rapper teamed up with Linkin Park for the chart smash Numb/Encore, and wrapped up his Staffordshire gig with a performance of the song.
Before playing the song, he told the vibrant crowd: "Can I get some love for Chester tonight?”
Beyonce’s husband added that he wanted all in attendance to "make some noise so he can hear you all the way in heaven tonight”.

The rap superstar was playing in Staffordshire
Bennington was 41 when he died by suicide last month in Palos Verdes, California.
He was laid to rest earlier this month at an intimate funeral attended by family, friends and bandmates.
Chris Martin of Coldplay also honoured the late rockstar on stage in recent weeks.
Playing at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, he played a moving piano cover of Crawling.

Bennington’s bandmate Mike Shinoda called the rendition “beautiful”.
