Megadeth fan FURY: Metallica played over Dave Mustaine Grammy win ‘Nothing more INSULTING’
DAVE MUSTAINE’S Megadeth Grammy win was met by the house band playing Metallica’s Master of Puppets, sending heavy metal fans into a Twitter fury.
59th Grammys: Megadeth win Best Metal Performance
Fans of the genre will know that the 55-year-old Mustaine was a co-founder of Metallica in 1980, but was fired three years later for drug and alcohol abuse.
However relations between him and Metallica have been better in recent years, with him performing with them at their 30th anniversary celebration shows.
Nevertheless it was too much for his fans when the Grammys house band played Metallica’s Master of Puppets as Megadeth went up to collect the award for Dystopia, which won Best Metal Performance.

Their performance of Moth Into Flame from Hardwired…To Self-Destruct suffered a few technical difficulties with lead singer James Hetfield’s microphone not working at the start.
Metallica was also nominated for Best Rock Song, but lost out to David Bowie’s Blackstar, which took home four posthumous gongs.
