Xbox One X SHOCK: Is Microsoft already working on powerful new follow-up?
MICROSOFT is already said to be looking beyond the Xbox One X, despite the console not even being out yet.
Microsoft is reportedly looking beyond the Xbox One X
The Xbox One X isn't even out yet, but Microsoft is already said to be working on a more powerful follow-up.
Rumours of another new Xbox console have started to emerge, despite the Xbox One X having a November 7 release date.
The new reports suggest that Microsoft is designing an Xbox One X successor, although it won't be a true next-gen console.
That's according to Windows Central's Jez Corden (via GamingBolt), an insider who previously outed the Xbox One X.
Corden told Twitter followers: "The next Xbox is already being designed."
But don't expect it too soon, because Corden believes it won't launch until at least 2020.
Interestingly, the Xbox One X follow-up won't be a next-gen device, but will instead be another hardware upgrade.
Asked why he left the word generation out of his tweet, Corden replied: "Ahah, well generations are over, at least for Xbox. Change resilient games are the standard."
In the meantime, the Xbox One X is being touted as the most powerful console ever, and will support true 4K gaming.
And as Microsoft points out, super sampling means that Xbox One X games will look better on regular HD TVs.
It was also revealed that all of the original Xbox One accessories will be compatible with the Xbox One X.
Xbox One X: Introducing the brand new console
Microsoft's impressive new console has a CPU that is 30% faster than that of the original Xbox One, while the GPU is 4.6 times more powerful than its predecessor.
Interestingly, the 8GB of memory - which is up from the 5GB found in the original Xbox One - allows the console to process art assets, making it easier to run 4K resolution visuals at higher speeds.
