Trailer: ARMS - Nintendo
According to Nintendo, ARMS features a standard battle mode for two players, complete with special power-ups that fall from the sky.
Team Fight is a 2-v-2 team-based game mode in which teammates are tethered together.
There's also a volleyball-style game in which players knock an explosive ball into the opponent's court and a basketball game in which players try to dunk their rivals.
Skillshot tasks players with destroying as many targets as possible using the versatile powers of ARMS, while 1-on-100 pits challenges players to defeat 100 enemies in a row.
Other game modes include Grand Prix and Party Match, the latter of which lets up to 20 players get together in the same lobby.
Local Wireless Mode lets eight players connect their Switch consoles and battle up to three players at a time.
Nintendo also announced plans to release free software updates in the future, complete with additional maps, fighters and weapons.
