PS4 Pro technical specifications have been released by Sony
Sony has revealed more about the PS4 Pro, confirming technical specifications and plans to hold another talk in the future.
Sony unveiled the PS4 Pro and the PS4 Slim at an event in New York this week. The PS4 Slim will be released on September 15, followed by the PS4 Pro on November 10.
According to Sony, the PS4 Pro will boost the performance and capability of the system architecture, including the CPU and GPU.
The new console will feature 4K support, as well as HDR technology, improved resolution and more stable frame rates.
"Today marks an exciting new milestone for PlayStation as we unveiled the high-end PS4 Pro in the midst of the console lifecycle, catering to gamers who are looking for a heightened PS4 experience," said Sony's Andrew House.
"By accelerating the innovation cadence at PlayStation, we're introducing choice in the marketplace, enabling gamers to choose the PS4 model that meets their needs.
"Ultimately, with titles that leverage the potential of PS4 Pro - plus PlayStation VR launching soon - all PS4 owners continue to benefit from having the best place to play."
In terms of design, the PS4 Pro inherits the slanted body design of the existing PS4, consisting of three layers of blocks to symbolise the "powerful presence of the PS4 Pro and its solid feel".
The console also comes with an additional USB port in the rear, as well as a 1TB hard drive for storing more games.
According to GameSpot, system architect Mark Cerny is planning to hold another PS4 Pro presentation, where he will go into more detail about the technical specifications.
