PS5 UK restock: GAME stock ahead of Currys and Argos PlayStation 5 update
A NEW report out this week suggests that GAME will be one of the next major UK retailers to offer a PS5 restock during October 2021.
PS5: Sony unveil pricing for PlayStation 5 console
Demand remains as higher as ever for the PlayStation 5, Sony's latest gaming console, which is currently out of stock in the UK. However, the good news is that more is coming before the end of the month.
More PS5 stock is reportedly coming to the UK next week, with GAME is expected to be among the next wave of retailers to offer it. So far Smyths Toys has been one of the only stores to sell the device, and that was mainly through brick and mortar, rather than digital.
But it looks like a new wave of PlayStation 5 stock will be arriving soon, providing the latest chance to buy a next-gen console before Christmas. From what has been shared so far, GAME will be offering a new shipment of PS5 consoles in early October.
And based on the latest information, this latest PS5 stock drop from GAME will happen between October 12 and October 15.
There are also other reports that Very and John Lewis will be offering more PS5 stock this month, but it’s unclear when these events will be happening.
The news has been shared by PS5 Stock UK - a reliable stock tracker account on Twitter - which is known for providing the best guides on what’s happening next.
The message posted on Twitter by PS5 Stock UK reads: “GAME has updated the PS5 bundles page with a 21/10 release date, indicating a possible online restock around the 12th of October. No further information is currently available.
“For those who don't know, the release date written by GAME is the last day they expect to deliver standard delivery orders. We predict that the restock should take place 12/10 with priority orders delivered by 15/10. Once official information is released, we'll let you know asap.”
As always, these reports need to be taken with a pinch of salt before they are confirmed by the retailer.
The big problem is that most stores do not share information regarding its next PS5 restock before it happens.
One of the only retailers that do this is GAME, so expect more news to be shared before the next PlayStation stock drop.
Other retailers like Argos, Currys and Amazon are expected to receive more PS5 stock during October, but it’s unclear on what dates these new consoles will be available to buy.
Currys will also reportedly offer more stock during October 2021 that will not be open to the general public to buy online.
Instead, those who have signed up to the Currys VIP services and have already been designated a place in the list will have a chance at buying a console later this month.
Knowing when a PS5 restock is happening can be vital, but it’s also worth knowing how each retailer handles its shipments.
And here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:
ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings.
AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out.
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. The new PS5 restock is expected to happen around October 12, 2021.
