Death Stranding release date UPDATE: Major launch news, brand new trailer revealed
DEATH STRANDING fans have been delivered some big release date news.
Death Stranding - Game Awards 2016 Trailer
Death Stranding is one of the most hotly anticipated games on the horizon with legendary game designer Hideo Kojima teasing plenty of new details recently.
Last week a brand new trailer for Death Stranding was debuted at the Tokyo Game Show 2018.
The Death Stranding teaser showcased a new character voiced by Troy Baker (The Last of Us) and what looks awfully like the start of a boss fight.
Also at TGS 2018 Kojima shed some more light on the Death Stranding release date.
And, according to a post by Gear Nuke, Kojima seemed to hint that an announcement on the Death Stranding release could be incoming.
When Kojima was asked about the Death Stranding release date, he said: “The release date for Death Stranding hasn’t changed… yet.
“Please wait a bit more for it. Thanks.”
While Death Stranding fans will be happy to hear the release date hasn’t been pushed back, that “yet” may fill them with some concern.
It remains to be seen when more details on Death Stranding will be revealed next.
There are two big upcoming events that spring to mind though.
Paris Games Week 2018 is not far off, with the gaming expo taking place at the end of October.
Sony last year made a big splash at PGW, debuting Ghost of Tsushima, a Last of Us 2 trailer, as well as Spider-Man and God of War footage.
Could Death Stranding get a big reveal then?
Alternatively, there’s The Game Awards in December - with last year’s event showcasing a lengthy Death Stranding trailer.
Could we get a new Death Stranding trailer then and a confirmed release date at that event also?
Elsewhere, during TGS 2018 Kojima was asked about the decision making behind how he picks his cast.
He said: “Their acting skills, but most importantly, their personality is the most important. Also how much I can trust them”.
Kojima also explained that it took a year for him to get big name stars Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen onboard for the project.
Death Stranding also stars Guillermo del Toro, Lindsay Wagner, Lea Seydoux, the aforementioned Troy Baker and Tommie Earl Jenkins.
It is exclusive for the PS4.
