When Thanos snapped his fingers at the end of Avengers Infinity War half the universe died.
We saw some much loved superheroes turn to ash including Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and Black Panther.
However there were a whole host of Marvel characters whose fates are currently unknown.
And now Bassett, who plays Black Panther’s mother Ramonda has confirmed her character and Shuri survived.
Speaking with Screen Rant promoting Mission: Impossible – Fallout, she was asked if her character perished.
Bassett replied: “No. Neither did my daughter. Shuri, she's a bright girl there in Wakanda. So…”
Shuri’s survival is particularly useful since she’s smarter than Tony Stark, so no doubt she will be very helpful come Avengers 4.
She had a small part in Avengers Infinity War attempting to remove the Mind Stone from Vision’s head without killing him, but was foiled by one of Thanos’ Black Order.
Meanwhile Bassett’s Romanda didn’t make the final cut of Avengers Infinity War despite much speculation.
Speaking with The Independent, he said: “There was one scene, I think, we had where everybody was there.”
He added: “I can’t really talk about that scene, but I knew it took them three months in planning this scene to have everyone there.
“You look around and you just saw everyone from Samuel L. Jackson to Michael Douglas to Michelle Pfeiffer. Everybody was there.”
Avengers 4 is released in UK cinemas on April 26, 2019.
