Captain Marvel: How Brie Larson's Avengers Infinity War prequel will set up Avengers 4
CAPTAIN MARVEL is set to star in Avengers Infinity War sequel Avengers 4, but how does Brie Larson’s solo outing set the movie up?

The end to Avengers Infinity War wasn’t exactly a happy one.
Thanos managed to gather all six Infinity Stones and click his fingers, turning half the universe to ash.
However the end credits scene offered one last moment of hope.
As Nick Fury turned to ash he activated a device that sent a distress call to Captain Marvel, as shown by her symbol appearing on the screen.

Now while Larson’s superhero, aka Carol Danvers, is getting her own solo movie in March 2019, the film is actually a prequel to Avengers Infinity War.
Set in the 1990s, the film will see how a two-eyed Fury first came across Carol, and how she became Captain Marvel as Earth is caught in an intergalactic conflict between two alien worlds.
So it can only be presumed that once she’s tackled her solo outing’s villains, including Guardians of the Galaxy’s Ronan the Accuser, she will stay off Earth.
However Fury will be given a device that can call on her, should the Earth ever be compromised beyond what S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers can handle.
So surely Captain Marvel’s end credit scene, or at least one of them, will show her in the present answering Fury’s call and deciding to head for Earth.
It’s the perfect and most obvious way to set up Avengers 4.
But before both those films is Ant-Man and the Wasp, which sees a new trailer released today.
Similarly to Captain Marvel, the Paul Rudd-led sequel is set before Avengers Infinity War and will shine a light on what the Avengers can do to defeat Thanos in Avengers 4.

Both might have something to do with the multi-verse and Quantum Realm.
