Cloverfield Paradox trailer released as movie streams on Netflix IMMEDIATELY (WATCH)
CLOVERFIELD 3, now fully titled The Cloverfield Paradox, has been surprise-released on Netflix as its full trailer debuted.
The long-awaited film, the follow-up to 10 Cloverfield Lane stars Black Mirror’s Gugu Mbatha-Raw with direction from Julius Onah.
Notably it appears to be a ‘proper’ sequel to the original Cloverfield horror, and film-maker Ava DuVernay spoke very highly of it as she took to Twitter overnight.
“Woman of color-led, sci-fi thriller released worldwide day + date w/ big Netflix muscle for black director, his super producer + POC cast,” she posted.
“No advance press, ads, trailer. Straight to the people. Gamechanger. Congrats to helmer #JuliusOnah + my dears JJ, Gugu, David. #Cloverfield.”

Early reactions are mixed
Sure enough, the trailer looks horrifying - with an emotional monologue from Mbatha-Raw being interpolated with quick shots of absolute terror.
Cloverfield is trending on Twitter, with the first reactions already incredibly mixed.
“The Cloverfield Paradox was really good holy s**t,” said one person.
However another wrote: “THE CLOVERFIELD PARADOX: at first i couldn’t tell if the movie felt like VOD because it was on Netflix, or if it was on Netflix because it felt like VOD.
The movie is helmed by Julius Onah
“that changed. not only is this a *terrible* movie, it takes down one of the more interesting modern franchises along with it.”
Netflix notably released another big-budget blockbuster, Bright, to its service late last year.
That too suffered a poor reaction from critics, although the fan response was much more polarising.
