Star Wars The Last Jedi: 'Awake' trailer
Star Wars fans have been very concerned about the older Luke in recent trailers and posters for The Last Jedi.
The biggest worry, that he had turned to the Dark Side, came when he took the villain’s position on The Last Jedi’s main poster – hood up and looming over everyone else like his father Darth Vader.
But now Hamill has revealed it’s more complicated than that, having confirmed he’s not gone to the Dark Side.
Speaking with Disney Insider, he said: “In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Luke has lost confidence in his ability to make good choices.”

Hamill continued: “It haunts him to the core. But he hasn’t gone to the Dark Side. This isn’t an evil version of him.
“But it’s still an incarnation of the character I never expected. It has pulled me out of my comfort zone. It’s a real challenge.”
He posted a picture of Luke and Rey pulling the same face and included the hashtag, #aMAZingREYsemblence.
