Thrilling behind the scenes look at Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Much speculation has been surrounding Star Wars The Last Jedi, especially after the first teaser was released last April.
The trailer finished with Luke seemingly in despair saying that “it’s time for the Jedi to end.”
Now in a new feature for The Last Jedi in Entertainment Weekly, Hamill has revealed how he “really struggled” with this new Luke.
He said: “The fact that Luke says, ‘I only know one truth. It’s time for the Jedi to end…’”

Hamill continued: “I mean, that’s a pretty amazing statement for someone who was the symbol of hope and optimism in the original films.
“When I first read it, my jaw dropped. What would make someone that alienated from his original convictions?
“That’s not something that you can just make up in an afternoon, and I really struggled with this thing.”
The feature was accompanied by new images of Luke looking very Sith-like.
Has Luke Skywalker turned to the Dark Side?
Luke is shown in very dark, almost black robes with his hood up. This reinforces his estrangement from the Jedi and their typically brown and cream robes.
This new dark and rather menacing outfit has more than a hint of the all-black Sith robes to it.
Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi will be released in UK cinemas on December 14, 2017.
