What happened to the actress who played Annie in Father Of The Bride?
FATHER OF THE BRIDE, a vintage comedy movie, is a hefty 26 years old already.
Father of the Bride: What happened to Annie?
Released in 1991, it starred Steve Martin and Diane Keaton as the parents of a young woman planning on tying the knot.
It was a hit in every respect; scoring positive reviews from critics and earning more than four times its budget back at the box office.
It even spawned a sequel, Father Of The Bride II, and rumours of a third have been ongoing for years.
But what happened to the talented star who played the bride herself: Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who had the role of Annie Banks?
The star was in Nashville a few short years ago
The movie was brought out in 1991 and was a huge hit
Actually, although her international profile may not be the highest, she’s continued to be a valued actress in numerous projects in the US.
In fact, you may well recognise her from the earliest days of Nashville: she played Peggy Kenter for 20 episodes.
She’s also popped up in a recurring role in Two And A Half Men, plus had guest appearances in Boston Legal, Royal Pains and Less Than Perfect.
On the big screen, she was Samantha in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip, and has also been in You Get Me, How To Eat Fried Worms, Safe House and We Are Marshall.
She's now a mum of two
The 45-year-old’s husband is Brad Paisley, the country music star, with whom she has two sons.
Earlier this year she told ABC of Father of the Bride: “I knew it was a privilege to be there. I was living out a dream I’d had since I was five - acting in a major motion picture alongside remarkable comedians I’d looked up to for years: Diane Keaton, Steve Martin, Martin Short.
“In many ways, my life couldn’t have been better.
“But much of the time, I felt far away from my family, friends and all that was familiar. And I had no idea what I was doing.”
