DAVID LYNCH, director of Mulholland Drive and The Elephant Man, has said he’ll never make another movie because of how Hollywood has changed.

The 71-year-old director hasn’t made a film since 2006’s Inland Empire, despite working on a few short films, TV series and and music videos.
The gap is quite a surprise for a filmmaker with such critical acclaim.
Last year the BBC polled film critics around the world to choose the 100 greatest films of the 21st century and No 1 was Lynch’s Mulholland Drive.
Now the director has spoken out, claiming he’ll never direct another feature-length film.

Speaking with The Sydney Morning Herald, he said: “Things changed a lot,
“So many films were not doing well at the box office even though they might have been great films and the things that were doing well at the box office weren’t the things that I would want to do.”
When asked if Inland Road was his last ever movie he hesitated before saying: “Yes it is.”
Lynch is currently working on his TV show Twin Peaks, which returns for a third season after 25 years.
