Mary Poppins Returns: Disney fans react to FIRST LOOK at Emily Blunt as iconic nanny
MARY POPPINS is returning to cinemas in 2018 and Disney fans have flocked online to react to the first image of Emily Blunt in the title role.

Mary Poppins Returns is a new adventure with the iconic nanny, and Blunt will be taking the baton from Julie Andrews when it opens at Christmas in 2018.
Last night Walt Disney Studios shared the exciting snap, alongside the caption: “Here's your first look at Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins in "Mary Poppins Returns," coming to theatres December 25, 2018.”
Thankfully, it seems to have generated more excitement than dread amongst House of Mouse enthusiasts on Twitter.
Journalist Jarett Wieselman posted: “And just like that, I was sold on Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins.”

A third person tweeted: “Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins is the most exciting sentence I've read all week.”
It’s not all good news, however, as one person raged: “Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins Does this classic movie really need to be remade? Another pointless waste of money. Do something original!”
Blunt is joined in the cast by musical theatre superstar Lin-Manuel Miranda playing Jack.

Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer, meanwhile, have picked up the roles of Michael and Jane Banks, wile Julie Walters, Meryl Streep, Colin Firth and Angela Lansbury will also appear.
Dick Van Dyke is also set to appear in a minor role.
Mary Poppins Returns is out on December 25, 2018.
