Clint Eastwood is still directing at 86-years-old
On January 15, 2009, US Airways Flight 1549 made an emergency landing into the Hudson River of New York.
Both engines had failed due to multiple bird strikes but all 155 passengers and crew survived.
The incident was known as Miracle on the Hudson, and the pilot, Captain Chelsley B “Sully” Sullenberger, became a hero.
However the aftermath saw the birth of controversy with claims that Sully’s actions endangered lives when he could have return to the airport.
The film also stars Aaron Eckhardt as Sully’s co-pilot, Jeff Skiles and Laura Linney as his wife, Lorraine.
Hanks will next hit cinema screens playing Robert Langdon once again in Dan Brown’s Inferno.
Sully is released in UK cinemas on December 2, 2016.
