Lily James only wants Mamma Mia 3 to happen if her one condition is met
LILY JAMES, who is currently playing Pamela Anderson in Pam and Tommy on Disney+, says she would reprise young Donna in Mamma Mia 3, but only if one condition was met.
Pam And Tommy: Disney Plus releases final trailer for series
Lily James had a ton of fun playing a younger version of Meryl Streep’s Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. There have been rumblings of a third film over the last few years, but could a third be warranted? Judy Craymer, who produced the first two ABBA musical movies, feels it’s meant to be a trilogy and has said in the past that Universal Pictures would like her to make it.
Let’s not forget that ABBA released a new album a few months ago in Voyager, with their ABBAtars concert show set to kick off later on in 2022, their 50th anniversary year.
Perhaps some of the new music could feature in another movie, although Björn Ulvaeus has cast doubt on a threequel in the past.
Nevertheless, he said he’d be open to having a look if the idea was right.
Whatever the case, Pam and Tommy star Lily is game for Mamma Mia 3. However, there’s a big but.
In a new interview with Screen Rant, Lily was asked: “I know this is kind of above your control, but what do we need to do to make Mamma Mia 3 happen?”
The 32-year-old replied: “I'm desperate for it to happen. It was like, it didn't feel real. It was so fun just singing on the beach and on a boat. I don't know. Why isn't it happening? We all need it. It's been COVID. It's been terrible. Let's do Mamma Mia.”

The reporter affirmed that the fans “need it”, to which Lily replied: “Please! But only If I'm in it. They probably won't have me. It'll probably be like, Sophie's baby. Anyway! Let's stop talking about it.”
We’re up for it, just as long as Pierce Brosnan’s given another solo.
