Heed David Blunkett's warning
A FORMER Labour home secretary can hardly be dismissed as a nutty Right-winger when voicing acute concern that an aspect of immigration policy could lead to race riots.
So David Blunkett’s intervention into the debate about Britain’s growing Roma community is an important one.
Mr Blunkett’s concern is about the impact that antisocial behaviour among a Slovakian Roma community is having on a deprived part of Sheffield.
But with problems like that surfacing among the 200,000 Roma already thought to be in Britain the prospect of a large new influx coming from Romania and Bulgaria becomes even more troubling.
It simply must be stopped.
