Camilla sets an example
AFTER a weekend of angry demonstrations and counter demonstrations, the Duchess of Cornwall yesterday set a superb example of how public-spirited citizens should respond to Islamist attacks.
By showing her solidarity with the Help For Heroes charity’s latest fundraising effort, Camilla left nobody in any doubt whose side she is on.
But neither did she pander for a second to those who are seeking to use the Islamist menace as a platform for threatening moderate and patriotic British Muslims.
The message she conveyed is that Britain is fiercely proud of the men and women of its armed forces but also a tolerant place that judges people on their behaviour rather than their background. And that is just right.
