A defeat for soft justice
IT TAKES a degree of humility that most crown court judges do not possess to admit to having made an error in sentencing.
So well done to Judge Scott Wolstenholme for acknowledging that he was wrong to spare serial burglar Steffan Jackson from incarceration and for correcting his error at the earliest opportunity.
Let us hope the judge has learned a lesson and will now guard against being "foolishly optimistic" about the character of other criminals brought before him.
