Just imagine what Sadiq Khan would do without anyone standing up to him - Steve Tuckwell

Last year, Outer London made itself heard, not once, but twice. We said, loud and clear, we don't want the ULEZ expansion, writes Steve Tuckwell.

Labour didn’t care then, and they still don’t. But I do. That’s why I pushed the Government to make a bold announcement: if we win, ULEZ in outer London will be gone.

As part of our ‘Backing Drivers Bill’, we will scrap the ULEZ expansion Sadiq Khan imposed on us and give local communities the power they need to block low-traffic neighbourhoods and 20-mph speed limits.

It’s vital that Londoners have someone in their corner, someone ready to stand up and fight for them against this war on motorists.

Because I’m worried about what could happen in this election. A vote for Reform could see Labour MPs handed power across outer London.

Labour MPs who will stand up for what Sadiq Khan wants, not for what locals need.

Just imagine what Sadiq Khan would do without anyone standing up to him.

He could bring in pay-per-mile road taxes, stand by as Low-Traffic Neighbourhoods are rolled out on more and more of our streets, and expand 20mph speed limits across all our roads, advancing his war on motorists at every turn.

The cameras to enforce this are already there. He splashed £200million on them against your wishes.

Your vote on July 4 will decide whether we have an MP who will stand up for us, for our community, for our neighbours and for our families. Or an MP who will back Sadiq Khan's agenda.

This election is about making sure outer London keeps its voice. The stakes couldn’t be higher.

We need to make sure that outer London does what it does best and shows Sadiq Khan and his mates in Labour that they don’t get to boss us around.

On July 4, let’s stand together again. Let’s vote to stop the war on motorists; let’s vote to protect our communities from Sadiq Khan. Because Labour doesn’t care. But I do.

In the end, the London Mayoral election made one thing clear: outer London doesn’t want ULEZ, it doesn’t want the war on the motorists.

This election is our chance to make that voice heard loud and clear. Let’s seize it.
