The jury rights the wrongs of the Kyle Rittenhouse case, says PEGGY GRANDE
I'm not an attorney, but you don't have to be one to understand that a wrong was righted with the full acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse today.
Kyle Rittenhouse is cleared of all charges in Kenosha shootings
Let's remember this was a minor - he was 17 years old when the incident occurred. The case should never even have been made public. Why does the world now know this child's name? Yes, legally he was a child when the events in question took place. But we know it served a political narrative for the left, not a legal one, so protecting this child was never a priority. Shame on those who advanced this case in the first place.
And shame on those who tried to make this about race - accusing Kyle Rittenhouse of being a white supremecist. Did they not even bother to look into the facts of the case enough to know that all three of the men who were shot were white? Race had nothing to do with the charges against him and the accusations of being a white supremecist were proven to be false without any merit or substance. Yet the mainstream media and Democrat leaders continue a drumbeat of racism. Their falsehoods create unrealistic expectations over what "justice" is.
Even Joe Biden, then presidential candidate, is accused of defaming Kyle Rittenhouse by tweeting a video which included images of the then minor, wrongly suggesting he was a white supremecist. Statements like this, especially from a prominent figure like Joe Biden, incite violence when the facts don't prove what has been accused. It fans the flames of hate and division and threatens the judicial system when mob rule delivers a verdict prior to any evidence being presented. Everyone who has been accused deserves the benefit of allowing the facts to catch up to the rhetoric.
