Myleene Klass was brave and spirited
MYLEENE Klass is a feisty female. When intruders broke into her back garden and peered terrifyingly in at her, she grabbed a kitchen knife and waved it menacingly in their direction from behind the window pane.
She was alone with her two-year-old daughter at the time. Many of us would have retreated as far from the threatening faces as possible, hidden in a cupboard and called the police.
Myleene’s instinct was wholly to protect her child. She chose not to project fear but instead to signal anger and a willingness to defend her offspring and her property. In return, police gave her a dressing down for wielding “an offensive weapon” in her own home.
Myleene is bewildered by their warning. Should she perhaps have waved a pocket handkerchief or a woollen mitten instead? Not a bit of it. She did the brave and maternal thing and I’d like to be there when the police officers who saw fit to admonish her are given a taste of their own medicine.
