Such a beautiful memory
BEING a father can be exhausting, irritating, nerve-racking and expensive.
But sometimes you get payback and then it’s all worthwhile.
I got glorious payback on Wednesday night in Windsor’s Theatre Royal where daughter Chloe opened in impresario Bill Kenwright’s Christmaspantomime Sleeping Beauty (as Beauty, natch).

Reader, it was hilarious. Not just the production itself, which is very traditional and very funny, but to see my little girl on stage in a proper British panto, acting her socks off and being cheered on by hundreds of screaming children, who laughed at her corny gags and gasped when she pricked her finger on the enchanted spinning wheel, was one of my top moments of 2011.
When i think of all the pantos Judy and i took our children to watch when they were small and now to see our youngest playing the lead in one... no of course that’s not a tear in my eye. Don’t be absurd. i have a touch of cold, that’s all.
