Big fat fibber Keir Starmer just declared war on the wallets of the working class

When the big fat fibber Starmer vowed he wouldn’t increase taxes for working people there were obviously some – presumably the pitiful few who voted for him – who believed him.

Now credible Whitehall intelligence tells us that that too was a lie as he’s planning to lift the 15-year freeze and put fuel up 10p a litre.

If ever there was a tax designed to clobber the working classes it’s THIS one. So, as well as planning to raise inheritance tax, capital gains and council tax he’s also going to kick workers in the goolies by taxing them on what is essentially their lifeblood – the fuel that enables them to do their jobs.

Drivers won’t have been fleeced on such a scale since 1997 - 2010 when Labour increased fuel duty by a staggering 46 percent.

And all this is coming from a bloke who, in the lead up to the election, vowed he wouldn’t increase taxes because Sunak had destroyed Britain by saddling it with the highest tax burden since the war.

And don’t forget Starmer is the man who, before polling day, was banging on about how important keeping the fuel freeze was. But as we’re fast learning - we can’t believe a single word that comes out of this man’s mouth.

So, in just six weeks we’ve learned he’s going to stuff up pensioners, he’s going to stuff up middle income earners and now he’s going to stuff up the working classes as well. At least he’s being fair and equal when it comes to wrecking people’s lives.

And all because of what he preposterously calls the “dire” situation he inherited from the Tories.

What, the situation that means we’re the fastest growing country in the G7, where Sterling is at a two year high, where inflation is just above 2% and where employment is rocketing? Yep, that’s a dire situation to be in. However, just wait till Starmer’s mob has finished with us. We’ll have to redefine the word dire.

With every day that passes, it’s clear Starmer has no plan to grow Britain because if he understood what growth is all about he’d know that our economy is totally linked to road transport, and that diesel is the lifeblood of growth.

Scrapping the fuel freeze won’t grow the economy – it’ll wreck it.

An extra 10p on a litre is very likely to finish people who are already struggling to fill up their cars because of cowboy garages charging what the hell they like.

And this week – where’s our spanking new ‘leader’ been? He’s been in Berlin talking to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on how to tackle immigration – a country that’s in the midst of its biggest ever migration crisis.

So why do we need to talk to or take advice from a country that’s made such a pig’s ear of immigration.
