HS2 doubts grow
DOUBTS about the supposed benefits of the £50billion HS2 rail line continue to grow. A poll of company directors last week showed 70 per cent did not believe it would help boost their businesses in the slightest.
One made the brilliant observation that this was all dreamt up in the days before laptops, iPads, 4G phones and emails. Now, anyone travelling for business has the whole train journey to work so does not need to get to Birmingham 15 minutes earlier.
Just think what that cash could do to improve your train line. Who knows, you might even get a seat going into work one day.
