Nothing but respect for Sharon Osbourne
WHILE I have to confess I find the Osbourne family saga about as edifying as clearing the sludge from the bottom of my pond, my admiration for the matriarchal Sharon knows no bounds.
Her husband Ozzy, 64, has sadly fallen off the wagon and into a vat of booze and possibly other substances. Tough-talking Sharon, 60, has moved out of the family home and into a nearby hotel but she is not giving up on awkward Ozzy or their 31-year marriage.
"I am devastated. It's a disease that not only hurts the person who has the disease but it hurts the family. It hurts people who love you," said Sharon.
She went on: "We will deal with it and this too shall pass. Otherwise my husband will be taken to hospital to get my foot removed from his ****."
If only everyone facing abuse problems could be blessed with a partner or spouse like Sharon: furious, supportive but utterly determined to win for the person they love.
It won't be expensive therapy or counselling that saves sad Ozzy. Rather the love of a formidable woman. Good luck to them both.
