Dame Judi Dench's M will be much missed
ONE of my unfulfilled promises to myself was that when I retired I would have time to catch some films on the big screen instead of waiting for them to be released on DVD.
Alas I am still too busy and thus it is that I have only just watched Skyfall.
When I then lamented the loss of Dame Judi Dench as M in the Bond films the audience applauded.
The film was fresh in my mind when I addressed a church meeting in Chalfont St Giles and when asked the usual question about whom I would invite to dinner I selected five dead people (cheerful sort of party, then) and Judi Dench.
When I then lamented the loss of her as M in the Bond films the audience applauded.
I just stopped myself in time saying that I hoped her M could be resurrected as it might have sounded blasphemous in a church and so close to Easter, but somehow I think they – and He – would have known just what I meant.
