Some ghosts in the machine?
I HAVE just spent a spooky couple of days recording a programme for Radio 4 on the ghouls and ghosts of Dartmoor.
Some of the material was just the retelling of old legends, some was an interesting examination of why this area inspires so many writers of dark tales but some was based around modern claims.
It still surprises me how bright, intelligent, humorous people can see a meaning in every trick of the light or stray sound or be beguiled by any coincidence but there are rather more ghost hunters out there than I would have ever believed.
They proved to be goodnatured chaps who took my ribbing without becoming offended.
Doubtless they would consider it significant that, as I write this my computer has blinked on and off.
