Strictly Come Dancing 2018: The Apprentice star teases line-up news in huge confession
STRICTLY COME DANCING 2018 is inching closer and fans are keen for any hints as to the line-up of contestants. Now, The Apprentice star Elizabeth McKenna has teased news about the BBC show in a huge confession.
The Apprentice: Elizabeth McKenna is FIRED
The 40-year-old businesswoman, who won the hearts of the nation on Lord Sugar’s notoriously tough BBC show last year, hinted at the possibility of signing up to take to the dance floor in the coming months in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk.
Elizabeth revealed she is happily considering reality TV offers, but admitted: “I never thought of The Apprentice as reality TV. I always thought of The Apprentice as different to that.
“There’s some reality TV I love,” she said. “If anyone was to want me for something that I was to want to do then yeah.
“There’s other things that aren’t me,” she added.
The florist joked she could never see herself on one show in particular, laughing: “Do you honestly see me in Love Island?
I think they’d need two male dancers to pick me up
“It would depend on the offer,” she continued, serious again.
Back to being jokey, she asked: “Can you honestly see me dancing around in Strictly giving it the Jive?”
Assured that Express.co.uk most definitely could see her entertaining the judges and viewers on Strictly, she quipped: “I think they’d need two male dancers to pick me up, not just one!
“Can you imagine me and Craig Revel Horwood going for it?” she said mischievously. “Where I might have given Lord Sugar the greatest possible respect, darling…”
On the topic of joining the Strictly Come Dancing line-up, she remained evasive, saying: “Yeah, possibly. We’ll see what comes along.
“There’s been a lot of talk about a lot of things and I need to make the best decisions as they come to me, for both myself, my family and my career,” Elizabeth confessed.
“We’ve had lots of interesting conversations with people and it’s just about where we take things and what decisions are made.”
Her comments come after she was hotly tipped to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house after leaving The Apprentice last year.
Among those rumoured to be donning their dancing shoes later this summer are Samantha Womack, Catherine Tyldesley, Chris Kamara, and Les Dennis.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth also revealed the poignant tribute to Princess Diana in Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s first public appearance after their engagement last autumn.
The star, who runs her own Floristry business in Nottingham, was given the honour of creating a bouquet which local schoolchildren would present to the future Duchess of Sussex upon their visit to the city.
She said she had included a touching nod to Prince Harry’s late mother in the bundle, revealing it features forget-me-nots.
“[They] were Diana’s favourite flowers,” she said.
Elizabeth also used purple and white blooms, which were the colours of the school who presented them to Meghan.
“And we also bound it in lace, which is because where they were going to was there Lace Market,” she divulged.
This week, Elizabeth has been at the helm of her own show on BBC Radio Nottingham from 5am to 6am, having struck up a good relationship with her local station and the BBC following her time on The Apprentice.
