The 20-year-old, who is best known for appearing in Gogglebox, was revealed to have taken a break from the show last year.
Josh’s exit came after he secured a two-year apprenticeship based in the Cabinet Office.
The rest of the Tapper family, who have been part of the Gogglebox cast since it first began back in 2013, still appear in the Channel 4 show.
And while parents Nikki and Jonathan, and sister Amy return to the couch, the North Londoner has explained what motivated him to switch to the role at Number 10.
“I had an unusual interest sparked from watching The West Wing,” he told The Mirror.
“This time last year I googled Government Communications Apprenticeship and it came up. I had no idea it even existed."
Josh went on to explain what it was like to see the real thing - rather than watching the US TV drama which stars Martin Sheen and Rob Lowe.
He recalled: ”It was really surreal walking through that front door of Number 10.
