Hugh Hefner: Marilyn Monroe a GREAT choice for first Playboy
The Playboy mogul is believed to have reserved a plot alongside the late movie star at Westwood Memorial Park in Los Angeles.
The 91-year-old passed away “peacefully from natural causes” at The Playboy Mansion, more than 50 years after the blonde bombshell was found dead.
Hugh is thought to have purchased the burial spot for $75,000 in 1992, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The star previously revealed that he had never met Marilyn during an interview with the Times of India.

The reality is that I never met her. I talked to her once on the phone,
Hugh is quoted as saying: “The reality is that I never met her. I talked to her once on the phone, but I never met her. She was gone, sadly, before I came out here.”
The magazine founder will join a number of famous faces to be buried in the cemetery, including Roy Orbison, Truman Capote and Dean Martin.
Marilyn featured on the very first cover of Playboy back in December 1953, which was an instant hit, selling 50,000 copies.

Meanwhile, the vault above Marilyn was owned by Beverley Hills resident Richard Poncher after he purchased it from her second husband, Joe DiMaggio.
However, despite him being buried there - face-down - for 23 years, his widow later sold the plot on eBay.
Richard’s spouse is thought to have received an offer of $4.6 million for it after posting the advert entitled: “Spend eternity directly above Marilyn Monroe.”
